Entitled: Brain Injury and beyond: How Glenside’s specialist Neuro-Rehabilitation unit (NRU) achieves success with highly complex patients.

This talk will be led by Dr Koko Naing and supported by other Glenside professionals from the multi-disciplinary team, to include a presentation of the range of clinical services provided within the Glenside Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) Hospital, which have led to positive outcomes for our patients. Case vignettes will be used where relevant.
Glenside offers a complete pathway of inpatient care with a choice of settings from acute care and intensive rehabilitation within the Hospital, to slow stream rehabilitation within a range of home environments. You are welcome to join Koko after his talk on a tour of the Salisbury site and after that for a networking lunch.

Entitled: Breath, Voice and Beat: Music Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy working collaboratively in adult neuro-disability.

This full day workshop aims to provide clinicians with an interest in the field of neuro-disability with practical knowledge of collaborative treatment between music therapy and speech and language therapy. The day will outline the theory of what happens to voice and communication in neurological disorders. The workshop will discuss and address a series of case studies relating to vocal and communication disorders in addition to practical examples to illustrate intervention techniques. By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained tools to enhance their clinical practice including theoretical and practical approaches.
