Glenside’s 2017 conference took place on Thursday 6th July 2017 at The Ark Conference Centre, Basingstoke.
Entitled: Enhancing rehabilitation: technical, surgical and peer group support for neurorehabilitation of brain or spinal injuries.
The conference speakers looked to focus on ways to enhance the rehabilitation of patients following brain or spinal injuries. Areas covered included technical aids covering a range of devices from those used to ensure safety or enable activities of daily living, to mechanical devices that may be needed to support ventilation, surgical techniques that may aid recovery, peer support to improve communication skills and research into brain-computer interfaces. All speakers considered ways to improve the well-being of those who have been injured.
The conference was attended by doctors, therapists, nurses and psychologists, as well as social workers, commissioners, case managers and lawyers.
Speaker presentations will be made available shortly.
