Langford and Kennet form a step down service within the neurorehabilitation pathway. Individuals can be admitted directly, or transfer internally from Glenside’s hospital neurorehabilitation unit at Salisbury.
This service provides comprehensive individualised nursing care for adults with complex care needs with high physical dependency; a disorder of consciousness; or in need of tracheostomy management, including those in a Persistent Vegetative State, or those who have ‘locked-in’ syndrome requiring ongoing, long-term support, as well as palliative care and family support.
Service users benefit from high nursing skill ratios, with SMART assessments and ongoing SMART treatment programmes to ensure their care plans are personally developed and monitored to ensure they achieve their individual goals. Glenside can offer WHIM assessment and service users have access to therapy input on a referral basis, where required.
Langford and Kennet consists of two units, each with eight individual bedrooms, with ensuite bathroom facilities and access to a range of communal spaces, including quiet lounge, TV room and service user practice kitchen.
Additional on-site facilities, available to service users and their families, include communal lounges, access to extensive mature gardens and a coffee shop, where visitors are able to meet their loved one without the restrictions of being confined to private accommodation.
Free on site car parking.
