Old Vicarage forms a step down service within the neuro behavioural pathway, offering specialist long-term care for male adults presenting with challenging behaviours as a result of an acquired or traumatic injury or other neurological condition. The service cares for people with severe cognitive impairment and behaviours precluding participation in rehabilitation and preventing the individual from residing in a less supportive environment. The service utilises an interdisciplinary approach to modify the individual’s behaviour to enable them to maximise their participation in community and in-house activities to improve and enhance their quality of life.
These services provide facilities which focus on supporting individuals to develop socially acceptable behavioural strategies through a variety of activities and positive behavioural support. Service users are involved in a range of social, leisure and vocational activities, including community access to help them achieve their goals.
Old Vicarage offers individual bedrooms with ensuite bathroom facilities and a choice of communal lounge areas.
Service users and their families are also able to access all communal areas, including the on-site Coffee shop and mature gardens.
